Note from the Editor
It’s mid-December, and the winter solstice is fast approaching. The planet will soon shift into its darkest, coldest position for a few days before turning and moving towards the Sun once more. This cycle—moving between dark and light, cold and warmth—perfectly illustrates one of the most fundamental truths of life: Change is inevitable, continuous, and necessary.
This issue of Twin Bird Review explores change in all its forms—quiet, loud, emotional, physical, metaphysical, and beyond. Each of the stories, poems, essays, and artworks featured here offers a different perspective on the mutability of our world and beyond. From dead rockstars to flying pigs, otherworldly prophets to the surging ocean tide, and even transformations in form as poetry becomes visual art, there are so many ways to become, so many things to be, and so many paths to get there.
I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who made this issue possible, from our editors and readers who are so generous with their time despite the demands of an ever-increasingly busy world, to the writers and artists who trusted us with their work, and of course YOU, our readers, with whom we are so excited to share this beautiful issue. Thank you!
