About US
Established in 2023, Twin Bird Review is a biannual online literary publication for imaginative fiction, poetry, essays, art, and comics.
We publish work that captures our imagination and offers new perspectives on the world around us. We love the metaphorical, the speculative, the fantastical, the whimsical, and the strange. We value energy, passion, and vibrancy. We care less about perfection and more about sincerity; less about looking good and more about authenticity.
We view literature as a celebration – not only of goodness and beauty, but of the full range of experiences our vast and strange world has to offer.
Literary and artistic vibrancy is at the core of our publishing mission and as such, we are committed to publishing writers from all backgrounds, at all stages of their careers, but are especially interested in new and emerging voices, and particularly writers from groups that have been historically underrepresented in publishing. We practice editorial affirmative action, and wholeheartedly believe there is enough room for all of us in the literary world.
Whereas art and literature seek to connect us, oppression seeks to divide. Twin Bird Review stands firmly in opposition to racism, xenophobia, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ageism, ableism, and all other mechanisms of prejudice through which violence is perpetuated, in all forms, both subtle and obvert.
Finally, though perhaps most importantly, we believe that creative work is valuable. We are not yet a paying marketing, but we expect to be starting in 2024. Please consider donating a few dollars to the cause or volunteering to get involved.
