Help support us

Thank you for your support! Like many other independent literary publications, Twin Bird Review is a passion project funded out of pocket by the founding editor. We are 100% volunteer-run, and do not charge submission fees. Your contribution goes directly to covering basic operating costs and getting a contributor fund set up, so that we can compensate our contributors for their work. We believe that work is valuable, and establishing the resources to pay our contributors is a top priority. Even a little goes a long way!

Does any of this sound exciting to you? We're on the lookout for volunteers who are passionate about providing a platform for imaginative art and literature.

We are currently looking to fill the following open positions:

  • Editors - Prose. We're looking for experienced editors to curate prose for two issues per year.
    • Responsibilities include evaluating submissions, coordinating and evaluating reader feedback, soliciting pieces as needed, and making final publication decisions in conjunction with the Editor-in-chief.
    • Working with contributors throughout the publication process.
    • Weekly commitment is around 2 - 5 hours per week, but of course we're happy to work with your schedule if needed.
    • Ideal candidates will have some background in publishing and/or literary magazines, a keen editorial eye, and well-developed sense of literary ethics.
  • Readers - Poetry. Love to read? Our volunteer readers help us evaluate submissions and provide valuable feedback.
    • Readers will be expected to read an average of five submissions per week, and provide brief feedback on each piece.
    • The average time commitment for this position is 1 - 2 hours.
    • This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in learning a bit about the submission process for literary magazines.

** Please note, these are all unpaid volunteer positions.

If interested, please send your resume or CV to
twinbirdreview@gmail.com, along with a brief cover letter. We ask that you include “Volunteer” in the subject line, and a brief cover letter so we might get a sense of your interests and experience. Please also familiarize yourself with our mission statement and the type of work we publish.

We look forward to hearing from you!
